Well, it’s quite probable that most of us are aware that being a Gay is a crime in the country. But did you know many of us who are hetrosexuals can also become criminals under this? And did you know being a lesbian, one is totally safe from getting charged under this creepy crime?
So the article in the Constitution talks about- Unnatural offences.—Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
According to this, every Gay is a criminal. But since there can be NO INTERCOURSE in case of lesbians, so congratulations ladies you are safe. Secondly, the straight people- I know you guys and girls fantasise a lot about Oral , Anal Sex but that can land you in jail, because according to the aforementioned section, it’s an UNnatural intercourse.
According to the prejudiced viewpoints –
1. Homos influence heterosexuals so much that the latter change their sexual orientation. So that implies a heterosexual can convert a homo too? Woah!
2. Its against “Indian Culture”. Well, this section was put in by British in 1860 and has been repealed in their mother country UK. Moreover, I fail to understand a culture that made the world aware of exotic sex positions, and today it is embarrassed to even talk about it, though wishes to poke it’s nose in people’s personal activities.
3. It is against the nature as it stops evolution. I wonder when India became worried of its population. And if this stops evolution, then what are contraceptives doing? Helping you taste flavours? That’s it?
So the matter of the fact is that we need to understand that being a Homo, a Hetro or a Bisexual is a mere ORIENTATION and not at all related to a swinging moods of one. I mean if I am a hetrosexual, no body can make me have a homo orientation and vice versa. Moreover, according to the research, it proves that there is no difference between Homos and Hetros’ brain structure and sense organs. So it doesn’t get affected by which environment you were brought up in, which school you were in or what kind of friends you have or which culture or religion you belong to.

So, we need to understand that being a homosexual is not at all abnormality but just a normal thing. We should stop stereotyping our minds anymore. I mean if you guys can go for threesome then DUDE! why this hypocrisy.
So, I strongly feel that Decriminalization an act that interferes in one’s personal likes and dislikes is the right step because being Indians it’s our birth right to liberty. And it’s rightly said that without liberty, rights to freedom are meaningless.
